The Skylight has a semi-industrial feel with a wonderful marble entry and an outstanding skylight in the entry. It also has 30 foot windows that go from floor to ceiling in the main reception area. It has a downtown feel to it with out the pricing of downtown Columbus. The building is a repurposed postal building and has large pillars in the main area. It is not a country club look. The benefit of the skylight is that it has the front room and the separate reception room. You can use the room as a cocktail hour room or hold the wedding ceremony in that room. Then you can have the grand reveal of the reception. Maybe the best feature of the Skylight is that it is owned and operated by the same father daughter team that operate The Vault.
The Space
Your guests will start by entering a stunning marble foyer which is perfect for a cocktail hour. The foyer could also be great for small events only requiring seating for 100. The main room can seat another 350 guests. We can help you provide your guests with an incredible experience for any event. The Skylight is perfect for weddings, company parties, proms, fundraisers, public events or anything you can think of!

- How many people does your wedding venue accommodate?
The Skylight can host up to 600 people for a wedding or event. In the event that you just want to use the back room it will hold up to 400 people. The average size wedding is 150 to 175 wedding even though The Skylight can accommodate much more then that. - Can I hold my wedding ceremony as well as the reception at the venue?
At the skylight it is kind of cool because it has the front marble room with the skylight in it. Many wedding parties like to have the wedding ceremony in that space and then move into the larger reception hall. Some brides choose to have the wedding ceremony in the larger room, in the end it is whatever the bride and groom wants. The wedding can be California style with the guests seated at their tables or theatre style with seating set up in rows. - What is your rental fee?
The rental rate at The Skylight is $1500 and a $2500 bar minimum plus tax and gratuity. A Saturday night wedding at The Skylight typically runs around $4000. Friday night and Sunday weddings will be even more affordable. - How much is the deposit and when is it due?
The Skylight asks for a $600 deposit at the time of booking the wedding. About half way to the actual wedding date The Skylight asks for an additional $2500 payment. Two weeks prior they do a final walk thru and set the guest list and final beverage package and final payment is made. On the day of the event if the wedding party is having a good time and they want to extend the evening each additional hour is $200. The do request at least a half hour notice of their intention to extend the party. - What is your cancellation policy?
The deposit as well as any payments made prior to the two weeks are non-refundable. They will move a date at no charge. There are certain circumstances that they will refund a deposit if they have time to re-rent the space, this is on a case by case basis. - How long will I have to use the event space I've reserved?
The bride and groom have access to the space to decorate and prepare for their event for the entire week. There are occasions that events are held on Friday night, in this case they will have access to the property as early as they want on Saturday morning. The space is rented in a 5 hour time frame and the clock starts when the first guests arrive. The wedding party as previously mentioned can extend there time if they would like to continue to party. - Is the food catered in or is it done in house?
All food is catered in and they have vendors that are familiar with the space and are accustomed to serving the venue. They will provide a list of caterers upon request. You do not have to use anyone from their list they are just suggestions. - Are tables, linens, chairs, plates, silverware and glassware provided?
The Skylight provides the tables and chairs. The linens, plates, silverware and glassware are all brought in by the caterer or the wedding party themselves. - Can I bring in my own alcoholic beverages?
It is prohibited to bring in outside alcohol to the event. - Are you licensed to provide alcohol service? If so, is alcohol priced per person or by consumption?
They are licensed to serve alcohol. The Skylight has several options to get a wedding party to their bar minimum. They can purchase a package that includes unlimited beverages or a fixed fee or a combination of both. - What is your weather contingency plan for outdoor spaces?
There is no outdoor space. - Does your facility have a bridal room and groom room to allow the wedding parties to prepare themselves?
The Skylight has both a separate bridal room as well as a separate groomsman room. The Bridal room is off of the entry marble room with the skylight, The groomsman room is located downstairs. The Bridal room has its own bathroom it also has some couches and chairs and is a nice space. - Can I move things around and decorate to suit my purposes or does everything need to remain as is?
The wedding party can decorate the space anyway they want and in most cases have plenty of time to get that done. - Do you have decoration guidelines that must be followed?
They do not allow confetti. - Do you have restrictions on what kind of music I can play or a time in which the music must end?
There are no restrictions on music at The Skylight. The bride and groom can choose either live music or a DJ at their discretion. - Does your venue provide on-site parking?
The Skylight has plenty of parking and all of it is free. - Are their nearby hotels that your venue recommends?
The Double Tree hotel is the closest hotel and there are other hotels in the area as well. In some cases they maybe able to get a bulk rate pricing for you at some hotels. - Is the site handicap accessible?
The Skylight is handicap accessible. - Does your venue have liability insurance in the event that someone is injured during the event?
The Skylight is fully insured for weddings and events. - Do you have signage or other aids to direct guests to my event?
They put out a big banner that says "The Skylight" on it. They are also in the process of getting additional signage that is possibly rotating and they maybe able to put the bride and grooms name on it. - Do you have a recycling policy?
