Between Steven and his wife they have Dj'd over a thousand weddings each. In any given weekend they will do between 3 and four weddings. There are three DJ's in the company Steven his wife Jody and David all provide services and they have enough equipment to work several venues at the same time. Nearly every Saturday they do at least three. - How long have you been in business?
Night Music DJ Professionals have been in business for over 25 years. When they first started they were doing final then they did the CD era and now they are in the Digital age. The equipment is constantly evolving. What has not evolved is how people have fun according to Steven. They all love dancing to current music as well as they classics with friends and family, My girl is still as popular on playlists at weddings as it ever was. - Can you provide the client with a short list of brides that can be contacted for references?
Oh sure... but this information is available on request. They encourage people to ask for it, it helps to ensure that the client is comfortable with who they are choosing to have a microphone in front of the clients friends and family. Building that trust is super important for Night Music so giving someone references is certainly part of that. - Are there any other services that you provide, such as lighting design?
Wedding have changed in recent years they are doing many more weddings themselves as well as the receptions. Sound reinforcement is a big part of that because the venues can be so unique and different and require special equipment to make sure the sound gets where it needs to be. They also do decor lighting and uplighting for venues if the service is needed. The newest thing they are offering is a Photo Booth. - What sets you apart from your competition in Columbus?
Wedding venues can vary so much that you need to be ready with several different sound systems and different set ups. It has become much more complicated over the years which makes it fun. Having experience with different acoustics and settings makes the difference. - Have you done events at most ceremony and/or reception locations in Columbus?
"There is always some venue that maybe new to us every year but I would say for the most part we have done most of the major venues in Columbus, Ohio" according to Steven. Many they have been to many many times." - What is your pricing?
They start off with minimum price for a basic two speaker sound system of $800. What your really getting is the experience and expertise of the DJ as well as their personality and how they present themselves and their music programming skills. The person and the experience you get does not change regardless of the size of the sound system that is brought to a wedding or event. The value is in making sure the wedding will be successful and fun. Typically pricing ranges from $800 to $1500 for most weddings. - Does the pricing include setup and breakdown?
The pricing does include setup and breakdown. Night Music DJ only charge for the actual time they are performing. The set up and tear down is completely up to them. - How far in advance do you book your services, what is the deposit?

Typically the balance is due one to two weeks ahead of the actual event. - What is your refund policy if the event needs to be canceled or the date altered?

Night music charges an additional $100 per hour. - Do you help choosing the music for the processional, recessional, father-daughter dance, etc.?
We can pick the full list of music and have it come out fantastic or the bride can choose each and every song, either way we will work with them. - How extensive is your music library or song list?
"It's kind of ridiculously extensive at this point because we are customizing things for each wedding and each reception" says Steve. They have ten of thousands of songs many of which may only be used one time. We let the client lead what they want from us." - Can the client give you a specific list of songs they want played?
"Oh absolutely...we want to know as much as we can about our clients, we encourage them, if its important to them and its what they need to do, to not hold back, to give us everything about them musically, give us their playlists. On the other hand we don't want to make a huge homework project for a bride who might not want to do that kind of work" says Steve. "We often give them lists of music that might inspire them. Typically, the bride that knows what she wants is not going to hold back." No matter what type of bride they have enough experience and expertise to make the wedding day as close to the brides vision as possible. - Can you provide wireless mics for the ceremony?
They do provide wireless microphones for most events and ceremonies. - What kind of space or stage do you require?
Often times they are not given much space. Each space is unique and more often then not the most convenient place for the DJ is not whats best for the venue, so they make sure they do what is best for each environment. In the end they only need as much as a card table for the equipment other then the speakers. - How much time will you need for setup, sound check and breakdown on the day of the event?
Average is an hour, some are harder then others but most venues are more challenging then others.
